Here in the Valley of the Sun, there is always buzz each year about the first time Phoenix Sky Harbor breaks the century mark.
This year, at around 2:28pm on April 10th, Phoenix Sky Harbor, the mercury hit 100º for the first time and also tied the record high for the day last set in 2018 and 1989. And while summer does not officially start until June 20th, this temperature milestone seems to trigger summer for Phoenix.
In case you were wondering, the average first 100º day is May 2nd. Back in 1988, the first 100º day occurred on March 26th (the earliest on record), and in 1913, the first 100º day did not happen until June 18th!
The bottom line, the heat is back, so be sure to take precautions if you have any outdoor plans.
