Phoenix hits 90º for the first time this year!

If you stepped outside this afternoon, you probably noticed it felt a little hot, and you would be right. The high temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor reached 92°, tying the record for the day, set in 1986.

This also marks the first time this year that temperatures at Sky Harbor have reached 90°, about a month earlier than average. The typical first 90° day occurs on March 30. The earliest first 90° day on record was February 17, 2016, while the latest occurred on May 12, 1912. Yes, the first 90° day didn’t happen until May that year! Last year’s first 90° day was on February 25.

As temperatures continue to heat up, make sure to stay hydrated!
