Record snowfall in Flagstaff on January 15th

A large fetch of moisture and several disturbances moving into Arizona resulted in heavy snowfall across the High County of Arizona on January 15th. Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, where the official snow observations are taken, recorded 14.8" of snow for the day, breaking the old record for January 15th of 8.9", set back in 1978.
This brings the year-to-date snowfall total in Flagstaff to 32.5", which is well above the average of 10.6". The most snow measured from January 1st through January 15th is 48.4", set in 1949.
